Join The Mahjong Society in the Half Acre taproom for Mahjong 101, our beginner-friendly introduction to American mahjong. This class is designed for total beginners who want to learn the game in a relaxed, social setting — ideally with a beer nearby.

We’ll walk you through the tiles, the rules, and the flow of the game, then guide you through practice hands so you leave feeling confident and ready to play. No experience needed and no equipment required — we’ll bring all sets and materials.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Half Acre’s menu, so come hungry, grab a pint, and make a night of it.
