Join us for five weeks of mahjong as the Lucky League returns this fall!

Starting September 23rd at 6:30 PM, we’re back at The Dawson every other week for social play with a lighthearted competitive edge.

Each night brings weekly prizes, plus the chance to rack up points toward the three top league prizes. Scoring will be tracked, but the spirit is all about fun, connection, and sharpening your mahjong skills. Whether you’re in it to win or just here for the camaraderie, Lucky League is the perfect way to make your Tuesdays brighter this fall.

League passes are $130 and include access to all of the League dates:

FAQs:

• Can beginners join?

  Yes! The Lucky League is a great place for beginners to improve their game. Upon arrival, players will self-select a table that is marked with their skill level so they’re paired with similar players.

  To note: While beginners are welcome, you must be able to play independently and according to NMJL rules. No teaching will be offered.

• What if I can't make all of the dates?

  If you can’t attend all sessions of the League but still want to participate, you have two options:

  1. Buy a League Pass and find a substitute for the day(s) you’ll miss (we can help with this).

  2. Stay tuned for single date tickets! We’ll sell League Passes first, but if any spots remain, we’ll open up single date slots.

• What do I need to bring?

  We’ll provide the sets and scorecards, you should bring your 2025 NMJL card!

• How does scoring work?

  We’ll score according to NMJL rules. Don’t know how that works? No worries! Members of our team will be on hand to answer questions and everyone will be provided with a scoring guide.

• Can I play with [insert house rule here]?

  No house rules in this league! While we love the creative spins people put on the game, there’s a time and a place for blanks, stacks, and messy mahjong. The League isn’t it!
